About Your Coach
I'm Cat—a creative business coach, producer, arts strategist, and creative consultant with more than 13 years of experience running arts organisations, festivals, and events at major theatre companies and venues across Australia, Europe, and the US.
I specialise in the stuff that makes most creatives want to run screaming: government funding, grant writing, strategic planning, and organisational leadership. My clients have secured major funding because I'm really good at translating complex systems and processes into something that actually makes sense. I love taking something that feels impossible and helping you see the pathway through.
I work 1:1 with creatives who want to build businesses and careers that are authentically aligned with who they are—not who they think they should be. I bring evidence-based practice grounded in organisational psychology, excellent intuition, and zero judgment. My style is extremely accessible, no-bs, compassionate and kind. I love a good joke, I'm always learning something new (usually via podcast), and I bring a lot of energy to our work together.
Stuff you won't find on my resume: I'm a solo mum by choice, an extroverted introvert, weirdly good at putt-putt despite having zero sporting aptitude, and a total nerd about this work.
What I want for you? Empowerment, wellbeing, courage, abundance, self-determination, and ambition. Let's make it happen.
my philosophy
Feeling stuck doesn't mean you've failed - it means you're ready for something different.
The Arts *IS* a real job - You deserve real money for it.
Clarity is more valuable than hustle — when you know where you're going, you waste less time.
Your creative business should reflect who you actually are — not who you think you should be.
Undercharging doesn't make you humble — it makes you broke.
Your business model should support your life — not consume it.
Burnout isn't a badge of honour — it's a sign something needs to change.
Transformation takes work — but you don't have to figure it out alone.
5am routines and hustle culture can absolutely GET IN THE BIN.

How we can
work together
1:1 Coaching
Sometimes you need to talk through a big decision or long-term direction with someone who gets both the creative and business sides. Whether it's navigating a career transition, building a sustainable business model, or working through strategic challenges as you grow—this is where we work through it together.
Grant Support
Grant writing feels like a mystery until someone shows you how it really works. I've been on both sides—first as an applicant, then assessing applications and running panels. Whether you want to learn the system yourself or get hands-on support for a specific application, I can help you understand what assessors are really looking for.
organisation & government consulting
I work with arts organisations and government bodies on funding strategy, program design, assessment frameworks, and policy. After managing arts organisations and grant programs for over a decade, I know what works in theory and what actually works in practice. This is strategic thinking grounded in real-world delivery.
